MIDNIGHT ROCK
Just when I had almost decided that each bar in Angeles was pretty much a clone of the others, I came across something different. I stumbled into Midnight Rock about 10:00 last Thursday night and found the ‘joint was a rolling and a rockin’, going round and round’ to quote Chuck Berry.
Rockin’ Dave Taylor, who owns/manages Midnight Rock, was pumping out rock and roll music on the piano with a flair and power that Jerry Lee Lewis would be proud of. The music from the 50s and early 60s that led the rock rebellion was so familiar, and Dave’s flamboyance on the keyboard so mesmerizing, I couldn’t get enough of it. I missed girls in their wide skirts and multi-layered petticoats, bobby sox and flat soled pink shoes jiving all round the place but I guess you can’t have everything in this life.
And if you should ever doubt Dave’s ability or his authenticity, don’t. Dave has toured with Bill Haley, Chuck Berry, B.B. King and the real Shakin’ Stevens as well as having a successful solo career. The man knows his stuff and puts on a great show every Thursday night from 8:00.
Get yourself down to Midnight Rock on Don Juico Avenue/Perimeter Road one Thursday and soak up the music from a kinder, gentler age. You won’t be sorry.

Rockin Dave's autobiography 'The Rocky Road' soon to be published
Preface
At the outset, I must say that I am not a novelist, I hardly even write letters these days, and I rarely reply to anonymous letters, so, for anyone picking out grammatical errors or omissions - tough! Go and find something useful to do. I do like the anomalies of the English language though, in fact I've always been interested in languages, I appreciate the art and cunning of linguistics. Indeed, I've often been called a cunning linguist.
I certainly don't believe in politics, it doesn't matter who you vote for, the government always gets in. I've always said that Guy Fawkes was the only honest person to enter the Houses of Parliament - and look what happened to him. Why do you think the announcement on the London underground train states "A light for the houses of Parliament" as the train arrives at Westminster? It is said that politics is the second oldest profession. I have learned that it bears a striking resemblance to the first. Did you know, by the way, that it is unfortunately illegal to die in the Houses of Parliament? It's a strange anomaly that Britain is governed by the politicians in the houses of parliament, in a place where the Speaker of the House is not himself even allowed to speak! Politics in itself is not a bad profession. If you succeed, there are many rewards; if you disgrace yourself, you can always write a book, as did previous Prime Minister Tony Bliar. In my book, Govt. is a four letter word, so I have never voted, except a few times for Screamin' Lord Sutch of the Monster Raving Loony Party. But that's another story...
Although I hear that reincarnation is making a comeback, I am not a religious person and consider myself an atheist (thank God). However, I believe that I have abided by most of the Ten Commandments (except the one about coveting your neighbour's ox). I don't steal, I know how much the government hates competition. I am a person of many convictions, and remember, the only way to make crime pay is to become a Lawyer. After all, a Lawyer with a briefcase can steal more than a thousand men with guns can, and Lawyers are the only persons to whom ignorance of the law is not punishable.
I will be writing this novel, which will become my first unauthorised autobiography, on my PC, unlike the novel Tom Sawyer, which was the first novel ever written on a typewriter, I digress, well why not, it's a free country - almost. I decided that it is high time that I put pen to paper, and so I bought a computer. Whoever said that the pen is mightier than the sword had obviously never encountered automatic weapons.
I have written every word in this book from memory, there was never anything written down, not even in a diary. I have a memory like an elephant. In fact, elephants often consult me. Proofreading is the hard part, you have to proofread very carefully to see if you any words out. It is work of fact, not fiction, indeed it is fair to say that income tax returns are the most imaginative fiction being written today.
I personally don't read a lot of books, I've not even read this one, but then again I don't need to - I know how it ends. I've never bought a newspaper and read them very infrequently, and only then out of boredom and for sheer entertainment. I'm definitely a self-confessed non-conformist and a firm believer in antiestablishmentarianism (if there are a few extra letters in there, I'm sorry about that). Even as a kid, I would have an After Eight mint at 6 o'clock, just to rebel. Then came rock & roll, which was my escalator to fame. And in due course, I worked my way up from nothing, to a state of extreme poverty. Consequently, I have always been opposed to millionaires, but it would be dangerous to offer me the position.
After more than 35 years of entertaining people and having had the pleasure of visiting all four corners of the globe in the process, (can a globe have four corners?), I consider myself a citizen of the world. Alas, living on the Earth is expensive, but it does include a free trip around the sun every year. I have seen it all and done it all, the problem is I can’t remember most of it. The wages of sin is death, and the wages for playing rock & roll are not much better. I can say that there are worse places than prison, and I know because I've played them. Nevertheless, I have always liked rock & roll, not just the music but the clothes, the people, the way of life and the cars. Where else would you find big imposing cars with massive finns (except at a Helsinki Police station, of course)? Rock & roll is not just a matter of life and death - it's more important than that. I'm very philosophical about it all, I started out with nothing in life and I've still got most of it left. I learnt at an early age that you can’t have everything….where would you put it?
In the seedy world of rock & roll, whilst you can certainly meet a lot of fascinating characters, remember that friends may come and go, but, as I have found out, enemies tend to accumulate. Having been involved in the music business since the early 1970s, I have throughout that time amassed a vast assortment of anecdotes and mareseydotes and little lamseydivey, in conjunction with amusing reminiscences of that period, and I now have the opportunity to pass on these memories in the following chapters. I planned to write this book many years ago, but just kept putting off the inevitable. After all, procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday, which is yet another way of saying don't put off today what you can avoid doing altogether the day after tomorrow. In any event, if I had written this book several years ago, it wouldn't have been complete, and you wouldn't be reading these words now. After all, outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend, whereas inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.
'The Rocky Road', is essentially the story of a rock & roll piano player, Rockin Dave, yours truly, the ups, but mainly downs of a rocker's life. A rocky road that has many times become a cul de sac. I must confess, I was born at a very early age and soon discovered that the road of life is a indeed a rocky road, exceedingly so, just like any road that you might walk down. A road filled with pot holes that you can fall in, and uneven cracks that you can trip up on, and lots and lots of dog shit.
I remember at an early age watching the likes of teen idols Paul Anka and Bobby Vinton on TV, and wanted to follow in their footsteps. I soon became a teen, but was never idle, maybe that's where I went wrong. I remember with warmth how, on dark rainy days in England, I would stand with my family around the piano located in the drawing room, - wishing that someone could play it. I have never been backward at coming forward and I have always had an ambition to write a book, but until I was born, my life was pretty boring. In fact, practically everybody in London has half a mind to write a book, and does. In theory, everything works, as I found out. I have had many nice things said about my piano playing and songwriting, but soon realised that flattery is just an insult in gift wrapping.
This book will provide insights to concerns that you never knew you had. It will both shock and enlighten. Indeed, it will offend some parties, especially those who are cronies of the state. It isn’t what this book will cost that matters. It’s what it will cost you if you don’t read it. Rumours that profits derived from this publication are being donated to a raffle for the Policeman's Ball are entirely speculative. And any resemblance to any person living or dead is purely intentional, and any similarity to any person either living or dead is also definitely intended. Should any of the content found in this book be deemed, or maybe even found to be offensive, indecent or otherwise objectionable - well, that means that you're just an old fuddy-duddy. You know what they say,- If you can't take the heat, get a fan. I did and some of them still buy my music.
WARNING
There is an enormous amount of challenging information in this book. Please do not continue if you are dependent on your present belief system, or if you feel that you cannot cope emotionally with what is really happening in this world. To all the judges, police, immigration officers and the Crown Prosecution Service, bailiffs, ladies in waiting, and ladies who have given up waiting, the events in this book never happened. For the rest of the world, this is the way it was. Only some of the names have been changed to protect the guilty. So herewith, I present my offering in the form of this novel, and I sincerely hope that you will waste no time in reading it.

Seaview-A musical voyage across the ocean
'Seaview' from the album 'Nordic Dream' is a million miles away from what I normally do musically, i.e. Boogie Woogie, Rock & Roll, Big Band Swing etc., and it almost never made it to fruition. I wrote and recorded this album back in 1991. Not knowing quite what to do with it, it sat on my studio shelf for 13 years until one day I made the decision to release it.
In this light classical composition can clearly be distinguished the traditional melancholy of the Scandinavian character and music, contrasting severely with the sensitive tranquillity and beauty of the Nordic nature as well as the impetuous seasonal divergence.A musical voyage....

Rockin Dave on Hong Kong TV - Fizz Bizz in 1985 (Rare Footage)
Dave was invited to open ‘Joe Bananas’, one of Hong Kong's top night clubs, in 1985. To commemorate the event, Dave's gold lamé drape jacket and blue suede shoes were placed on permanent display in a glass cabinet inside the club!
While in Hong Kong, Dave obtained rave reviews by the Hong Kong public and a great deal of press coverage, for example, in the 'Hong Kong Standard' and 'TV Times', as well as appearing in a number of TV and radio shows, such as Edward Bean's popular 'Fizz Bizz'. Dave recalls that on the eve of the early morning recording of 'Fizz Bizz', where Dave played his then new track, You'd Better Listen to Me Now (Midnight CD705 Cadillacs & Moonlight), he took a taxi to the famous Hong Kong Peak. Unaware, that there would be no return transport after midnight, nor any means of contacting someone, Dave was deserted until the next morning, with nothing more than a six pack for company.
He only made it back by walking all the way from the Peak to the filming location in Kowloon just in time for the recording of the TV show, shattered and complete with bloodshot eyes, having spent the entire night admiring the vastness of Hong Kong from the Peak!

Brian Poole re-releases Rockin Dave Song- "Hey Little Girl"
Brian Poole (Ex Brian Poole & the Tremeloes) has re-released Rockin Dave's composition, "Hey Little girl".
It's difficult for anyone who has heard them not to like — or even love — Brian Poole & the Tremeloes. They were one of the more prodigiously talented British pop/rock bands of the 1960s, and they threw that talent into the making of amazingly catchy and well-crafted singles that lit up the charts and radio on both sides of the Atlantic for four years running, from 1966 through 1970.

Rockin Dave to perform despite 'End of the world'!
Rockin Dave's highly acclaimed Thursday night Rock 'n' Roll show will go ahead as planned even if the world comes to an end on May 21st 2011, as predicted by Harold Camping.
Believers had spent months warning the world of the pending cataclysm. Some had given away earthly belongings. Others took long journeys to be with loved ones. And there were those who drained their savings accounts.
Rockin Dave stated:" Rock 'n' Roll isn't just a matter of life and death, it's more important than that".
He added:, "If the world does come to an end on the 21st of May, the Rock 'n' Roll show will still go ahead as planned at 8 pm 'ish' on Thursday night at Midnight Rock Music Lounge, Clarkview, Angeles City, Philippines".

The project "Nordic Dream" was created by the English songwriter, Dave
Taylor, who has worked in Scandinavia since the late 1970's and lived
there for many years. It is a musical account of his impressions of
Scandinavia, inspired by the various Nordic towns and landscapes, and
influenced by the extraordinary music culture. In these light classical
compositions can clearly be distinguished the traditional melancholy of
the Scandinavian character and music, contrasting severely with the
sensitive tranquillity and beauty of the Nordic nature as well as the
impetuous seasonal divergence. The 19 recordings featured on this CD
represent the inheritance of many years of collaboration between Dave
Taylor and Scandinavia and a celebration of the Nordic Countries.

St. George rocks at Midnight Rock
April 23rd at 6pm saw 'Midnight Rock Bar' swamped with revellers from all over the Philippines for the St. George's day celebration. In the Rock n Roll venue on Don Juice Street, Angeles City, the English flag was raised ahead of live music by Rockin Dave on Friday night.
Steve Hicky brought up a bus loaded with party goers from Subic to join in the celebration and a good night was had by all.
A pub Crawl began at the Brass Knob and ended at Midnight Rock for some good ol' Rock N Roll!!

GREAT ENTERTAINMENT AT THE MIDNIGHT ROCK
On Wednesday, 26 Aug 09, I witnessed great entertainment at the Midnight Rock. I
saw first hand the piano playing and singing of "Rockin Dave" at this new Club that
was previously known as "Electric Blue". Dave had been open for a few days already
but on this particular night he had sort of a formal opening with the help of some
of other Club owners who provided an array of dancers that really livened the place
up. Represented were ladies from Emotions, Dr. Holm's, Stampede and Eruptions and

something different to look forward to and I do believe that Dave will develop a
good fan base and some loyal customers. I am hoping that he will perform about
every hour on the hour for fifteen minutes or so because he is the main attraction.
Yes, he has the ladies, the club is nice, the music is not loud, the prices are
reasonable, the dancers are energetic but he does need a few more to fill out the
bill. This is a club that will not be an overnight success but it will grow in
popularity over time. One can feel comfortable taking your girlfriend there and
even the Mrs just to see the antics of Dave on stage. One thing is for sure, the
Midnight Rock will continue to Rock on and Dave's piano will not be silenced. He
has too much talent to share with the patrons of his Club and his business will grow
accordingly. Everyone likes to look at the ladies, me included and there sure are
enough places in town to do that to your hearts content but there is always room for
a bit of show business as well, thank you, Dave, for providing that.

GREAT ENTERTAINMENT AT THE MIDNIGHT ROCK
On Wednesday, 26 Aug 09, I witnessed great entertainment at the Midnight Rock. I
saw first hand the piano playing and singing of "Rockin Dave" at this new Club that
was previously known as "Electric Blue". Dave had been open for a few days already
but on this particular night he had sort of a formal opening with the help of some
of other Club owners who provided an array of dancers that really livened the place
up. Represented were ladies from Emotions, Dr. Holm's, Stampede and Eruptions and
of course, the Midnight ladies themselves. The highlight of the evening though had

Rockin Dave explores the Mount Pinatubo Volcano on the Island of Luzon, Philippines 10 May 2009
Mount Pinatubo is an active stratovolcano located on the island of Luzon, at the intersection of the borders of the Philippine provinces of Zambales, Tarlac, and Pampanga. The Volcano's cataclysmic eruption in June 1991 produced the second largest terrestrial eruption of the 20th century and the largest eruption in living memory.
The colossal 1991 eruption had a Volcanic Explosivity Index (VEI) of 6. Surrounding areas were severely damaged by pyroclastic flows, ash deposits, and later by lahars caused by rainwater remobilizing earlier volcanic deposits. Thousands of houses and other buildings were totally destroyed.
The effects of the eruption were felt worldwide. It ejected roughly 10 billion metric tonnes of magma, and 20 million tons of Sulphur Dioxide, spewing vast quantities of minerals and metals to the surface environment. It injected large amounts of aerosols into the stratosphere-more than any eruption since that of Krakatoa in 1883.
Over the following months, the aerosols formed a global layer of sulphuric acid haze. Global temperatures dropped by 0.5 °C, and ozone depletion temporarily increased substantially.
The birth of modern Pinatubo occurred in the most explosive eruption in its history, which deposited pyroclastic flow material up to 100 meters thick on all sides of the mountain. The total volume of material erupted may have been up to 25 cubic kilometres, and the removal of this amount of material from the underlying magma chamber led to the formation of a large caldera. This was also the largest earthquake recorded, comparable in size to the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and the 2008 Sichuan earthquake.
The ash cloud from the volcano covered an area of some 125,000 km², and could easily be seen from space, bringing total darkness to much of central Luzon. In total, 364 communities and 2.1 million people were affected by the eruption, with livelihoods and houses being damaged or destroyed.
More than 8,000 houses were completely destroyed, and a further 73,000 were damaged. Up to 900 people were killed and 100,000 became homeless following the Mount Pinatubo eruption. In addition to the severe damage sustained by these communities, roads and communications were damaged or destroyed by pyroclastic flows and lahars throughout the areas surrounding the volcano. The arduous journey would take us through raging rivers and across extremely rough terrain.
This is not the first time that I have harboured a yearning to visit Mount Pinatubo. During my first visit to Angeles City in 1986 during a tour of the Far East, I was fascinated with the Volcano. At that time, I was an active skydiver with more than a thousand jumps under my belt, and it was my intention to skydive over Mount Pinatubo and land on the summit. Sadly that never transpired and I made my last skydive in the last year of the last Century. Now I am again here in Angeles, I couldn’t resist the urge to visit the site of the most powerful eruption in living history, and made a plan to visit Mount Pinatubo this time round…
Well, the pick up was arranged for 6 a.m. at Margarita Station, Angeles City, So I set my alarm for 5 a.m. and consequently woke up at 3 a.m! Full of anticipation, I made my way to Margarita and had several beers which I would suggest is not the most efficient way to prepare for a trek up Mt. Pinatubo. The driver, June arrived promptly at 6 a.m. and we set off in the 4x4 jeep. We were accompanied on the trip by 4 Koreans who never spoke a word throughout the journey and, as my Korean is less than atrocious, the trip to Pinatubo was very quiet.
The journey to St.Juliana, the so called ‘base camp’ was uneventful and took around 1 hour. There we registered and paid the additional 350 PHP for the privilege of hiring a boat to sail on lake Pinatubo, (which turned out to be a total waste of time as when I arrived at the crater there was no boat to be found). They did issue a refund however on our return. I digress, and why not? It’s a free country.
At this point, we were joined by the Mountain guide, - Didoy and, after registration, we set off again across the rugged terrain towards the base of Mt. Pinatubo where we immediately became stranded in a raging river. Luckily, we flagged down a passing jeep (as you do), who towed us out of the river. Following a further 20 minutes or so of bouncing across the rough landscape, we arrived at a clearing where we could drive no further. The rest of the climb would be on foot.
The trek started off relatively easy, but soon escalated into a full on intense climb over rocks and across rivers. Didoy ran on ahead like he was a school boy on a Sunday picnic flying up the Mountain as if he did that everyday, which in fact he did, leaving the rest of us to find the way to the summit on our own. This wasn't as difficult as it sounds though, as the only two choices were over stepping stones up the river, or into the dark, dense jungle which was probably full of snakes and other creepy crawlies. I opted for the stepping stones.
As I was in front, spurred on by the San Miguel, the Koreans followed me as if I knew where I was going. I think that the camouflage jungle hat that I was wearing gave them the false notion that I was some kind of Indiana Jones. The trip towards the crater was gruelling and hot, but the scenery was spectacular and almost made me forget the aches and pains in my lower extremities. After some 60 minutes of exertion, (the likes of which I hadn't experienced for a good few years), we were met by the awe inspiring view of Lake Pinatubo. The Koreans behind me clapped and cheered at the sight. (Although I personally think that they were just relieved that we had been going the right way).
After eruptions had ended, a crater lake, Lake Pinatubo, formed in the 1991 caldera, with the 1992 lava dome forming an island. At first, the lake was small, hot and highly acidic, with a minimum pH of 2 and a temperature of about 40 °C. But that wasn’t going to worry us. We were made of sterner stuff. We sat down for a rest, with Didoy the guide, looking on in bemusement. There then followed a steep climb down to the turquoise blue water of Lake Pinatubo. The Lake was tranquil and serene and we were sticky and sweaty as we jumped into the welcoming water and spent the next half hour languishing in the cool lake. I briefly pondered upon what would happen if this sleeping giant chose this point in time to erupt again and wondered if there would be a refund. I decided to get dressed just in case. After sandwiches and a couple of beers which I had hauled diligently all the way from the sari-sari store, I headed back up to the crater rim. One last look at Lake Pinatubo and then it was time for the relatively easier climb down back to civilisation.
On the way down, assisted greatly by gravity, one of the stepping stones which turned out not to be a stepping stone, but instead, a large leaf, gave way under my feet and plunged me into the river. Unperturbed by my drenching, I jumped up quickly and attempted to look nonchalant which wasn’t easy with my jungle hat dripping water and coconut leaves hanging from my shorts. I continued down the mountain to the waiting jeeps. At this point, the Koreans went in one jeep back to St.Juliana and I went in another direction with Didoy and June in search of the hot springs of Pinatubo. Was it something I had said I wondered, or were they just hungry for the lunch that was awaiting them? I presumed the latter and continued across the moonlike landscape towards the Spas, through an unreal and nebulous landscape, arriving at a picturesque expanse complete with palm trees and water falls. These were the thermal springs of Mt. Pinatubo, which cascade straight from the Volcano itself and where temperatures range from a mild 40 degrees Centigrade to a Sauna-like, skin blistering 70 degrees Centigrade !
Spectacular views, towering lahar canyons, therapeutic hot and cool springs together with cascading waterfalls. All that was missing was a bar! Not being one to take the easy option, I jumped into the 70 degree Spa, and jumped out twice as fast! After a few tentative attempts, I eventually became relatively accustomed to the blazing temperature and basked there for 15 minutes or so pleasantly wallowing in the Sulphurous liquid. I felt like a broiled chicken, but as there was no restaurant there, I settled for a cold beer.
I was told by Didoy that the Spa had almost magical powers of healing, and right now I could do with all the magical powers of healing that I could find. Didoy and June were desperately trying to hide their laughing, as I emerged from the hot Spa resembling an over cooked lobster! I cooled myself down in the tepid second and third Spas before returning to the jeep and making our way back to St.Juliana. Back over the plains of Pinatubo we were greeted by the friendly Aetas, an indigenous group of people who live on the slopes of Mt. Pinatubo. They waved and smiled but looked somewhat bemused as we passed by.
In the St.Juliana restaurant, the Koreans were already into their third course as we trundled in and sat down at the table. The meal was included in the price, which unfortunately for me consisted of Adobo, Pansit and other Pinoy delicacies. I was looking for a burger and chips. Not to worry though, the Koreans enjoyed it and the sari-sari store was still open and selling beer. We drove back to Angeles City where June dropped off the Koreans at their hotel and dropped me off at Margarita Station for a few more beers to celebrate my achievement. After all, it was only 2.30 in the afternoon and far too early to go home.
The total cost of the trip was just 3,500 PHP which was in my estimation, very reasonable and money well spent. After a relaxing massage, it was time for a spot of bar hopping down Fields Avenue but could anything else really compare to trekking up the slopes of Mount Pinatubo and swimming in the Crater of Lake Pinatubo???

Venerdi, presso il Circolo For Sale di Piacenza, ci sarà una grande Serata per gli appassionati di Boogie Woogie e Rock 'n Roll.
E', infatti, previsto un concerto con il pianista britannico Rockin Dave Taylor, tre-musicisti-tre dei "malfamati" :-) Good Fellas e i Boppin' Shoes.
Non conosciamo direttamente Dave Taylor, ma da un filmato che vi presenteremo nei prossimi giorni sembra mattocchio al punto giusto... :-)
Abbiamo, invece, ballato con l'ottima Musica dei Good Fellas durante l'ultimo Summer Jamboree di Senigallia. Purtroppo, in quell'occasione i Good Fellas dovettero limitarsi a fare da intermezzo all'aperto, durante le esibizioni di Dita Von Teese. Cosi', appena iniziavamo a scaldarci con il loro Swing travolgente, subito i Good Fellas dovevano smettere di suonare, per permettere al pubblico di rientrare in discoteca e seguire lo spettacolo della Fritola Furba. :-))
Dei Boppin' Shoes abbiamo parlato in occasione del loro concerto tenuto al Dancing Vallechiara di Cusano Milano, durante il quale abbiamo anche scattato qualche (brutta) foto. Sono una certezza e sapranno sicuramente entusiasmare il pubblico.

Rockin Dave is busier than ever.
As well as playing regular shows up and down the Spanish Costas and attending radio interviews, and has just returned from touring clubs up and down Italy with his show band, the GoodFellas.
The end of 2008 will find Rockin Dave performing at a private party in Pakistan!
Talks are on going with the US military who want to bring Rockin Dave to Iraq for some shows.
Rockin Dave is also in negotiations with the organisers of a major outdoor festival in the Ukraine for a live show at the end of 2008.
Rockin Dave's CD 'This is Boogie Woogie' continues to outsell all his other releases, with more than 10,000 downloads alone of this album to date.
For the past year or so, Rockin Dave has been writing his autobiography, which promises to be a revealing and fascinating insight into the complex world of a Rock & Roll musician, his trials and tribulations, and a captivating read!
Rockin Dave has also been invited to join his friend and lawyer, Giovanni Di Stefano, as the Campaigns Officer for Giovanni’s political arm, the Radical Party http://www.theradicalparty.co.uk – well, whoever heard of anything so controversial as mixing Rock & Roll and politics together?!
Another recording is also planned, this time to be recorded in Rome.
In June 2008, Rockin Dave will tour the Far East - the last time was in 1987!

Rockin Dave Rocks The Costas!!
This well-known artist has created a unique blend of Big Band Rock n Roll, Rhythm n Blues and Jump Jive rolled into one. With 30 years as a musician Dave started in the UK by playing in rock n roll bands at an early age, whilst studying classical music for 6 years. Although still young he was performing with many stars such as Bill Haley, BB King, Chuck Berry, and Shakin' Stevens, Marty Wilde, The Batchelors, PJ Proby, Jess Conrad, and even Jasper Carrott!
Tours of Europe, 5 years in Scandinavia -where he is still a huge hit- and appearances on UK TV and radio followed- The Kenny Everett Show, Pebblemill at One, Old Grey Whistle test and more.
Dave went on more tours in Russia, Hong Kong, The Phillipines, Europe and the USA over the years, and recorded many of his own songs.
Dave performed at the launching of Austin Powers' The Spy Who Shagged Me' at the Cannes Film Festival in May 1999, in front of VIP guests including a host of Hollywood stars and producers; Steven Spielberg, Sean Connery, Val Kilmer, Charles Bronson and Sir Richard Branson among others.
He has recorded many CDs over the years too, and continues to produce new ones.
Now living in the Costa Blanca, Dave is currently building a new recording studio facility here, where his Midnight Rock Records label will be relocated soon. He has still found time to tour the UK, Italy and Spain whilst writing and recording more songs. There is so much to say about Dave, his work, and his achievements- but this quote sums him up-
