THE GOOD FELLAS BIOGRAFIA Questa è una storia di swing. Un viaggio fantastico dentro una favola multicolore, dove gli ingredienti principali sono la musica, la passione, i buoni sentimenti e l'amore per il proprio paese. Corre l'anno 1993 quando, il forlivese Stelio Lacchini alias "Mr. LUCKY LUCIANO" guardato a vista dalla sua guardia del corpo, il bolognese Fabrizio Casadei in arte "BUM BUM LA MOTTA", lascia dopo esperienza decennale "THE JUMPIN'SHOES", storica band di rock'n'roll, e decide di gettarsi a capofitto in quel vortice di swing italo americano che da origine ai "Gangsters dello Swing": THE GOOD FELLAS. Quando si nasce nel paese del sole e dell'allegria non è difficile essere contagiati dalla musicalità, dalla voglia di divertire e divertirsi, dai buoni sentimenti. Il Mondo intero da sempre ama il nostro popolo, la nostra arte, il nostro calore. Da queste solide radici parte l'esperienza dei "Bravi Ragazzi". Un repertorio italo americano che comprende Carosone, Buscaglione, Sinatra, Louis Prima, Lou Monte, lo swing afro americano di Louis Jordan e Big Joe Turner, ed il rock'n'roll di Bill Haley; brani originali e cover hanno conquistato il cuore delle platee di tutta Europa, e gli ascoltatori di tutto il Mondo. RAY GELATO, famoso crooner italo-angloamericano, li considera la migliore band del genere. I GOOD FELLAS hanno suonato in Italia, Francia, Svizzera, Germania, Regno Unito, Olanda, Belgio, ed ai più importanti festival di musica fifities. Hanno partecipato più volte ad affermate trasmissioni televisive, tour teatrali, film.Dal vivo, lo spettacolo ha il sapore degli show di Las Vegas, nati dallo stile di Louis Prima. Musica, intrattenimento, cabaret, coinvolgimento diretto del pubblico. Uno show nato sotto i riflettori dei grandi casinò della "città di spettacolo più grande del Mondo", che i Good Fellas portano nelle sale da gioco della vecchia Europa, da Saint Vincent a Campione, da Nova Gorica a Lucerna. Sempre a cavallo tra il serio e la burla, lo spettacolo non conosce soste; il ritmo irrefrenabile, il calore, lo scherzo. Tutti elementi che contribuiscono a ridare al pubblico l'elemento fondamentale di uno show godibile; la gioia dell'essere intrattenuti con allegria; la libertà di abbandonarsi al ballo, al sorriso, all'atmosfera di festa. I "Bravi Ragazzi" vestono l'immagine accattivante del gangster buono dal doppio petto facile, che fu dell'indimenticabile Fred; se state camminando in una notte di nebbia e da un seminterrato sembra provenire un ritmo medium swing, o se vedete sbucare un doppiopetto armato di mitra jazz, occhio; THE GOOD FELLAS potrebbero essere più vicini di quello che pensate..... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LA CARRIERA… Oltre a Ray Gelato hanno lavorato al fianco di grandi star della musica: Jack Scott (Leroy,The way I walk, Geraldine); Charlie Gracie (Fabulous, Buttefly); Big Jay McNeely (Big Jay's 3D, Pretty Girl); Jimmy Cavallo (Rock, Rock, Rock, Rock the Joint); Danny and the Juniors (At the hop, Rock'n'roll is here to stay); Tommy Sands (Worryin' kind); Rockin' Dave Taylor (Rockhouse, Rockin' in the same ol'way); Graham Fenton (Rockabilly Rebel); Screamin' Lord Sutch (Jack the ripper, Long black and hairy); Blue Lou Marini (Blues Brothers Band); Eddie Nichols (Royal Crown Revue). Molti di questi artisti sono stati accompagnati durante i più importanti festival musicali di settore; il "SUMMER JAMBOREE" di Senigallia, e la "RHYTHM RIOT" di Camper Sands, UK. Una carriera piena di episodi significativi; la partecipazione alla trasmissione televisiva "IL BOOM", Canale 5, primavera/estate 1996, l'incisione di due CD dove Ray Gelato è ospite della band, "GELATO ALL'ITALIANA" (1996) e "GANGSTERS OF SWING" (1998), numerose tournee in Italia ed all'estero. Nel 1998 conquistano la simpatia e l'amicizia degli ARTICOLO 31; suonano dal vivo al Festivalbar, al Roxy Bar ed al megaraduno di Garbagnate, Milano, davanti a ventimila persone. Nel luglio dello stesso anno vengono chiamati ad apparire, al fianco di Daniele Liotti, nell' episodio "TUTT'UN TIC" del film "I FOBICI". Nel settembre 1999 diventano live band dello spettacolo di ALDO,GIOVANNI E GIACOMO: "Tel Chi el Telùn". Oltre 80.000 spettatori dal vivo, ascolti da record (oltre 10 milioni a puntata televisiva). Nel 2000 viene autoprodotto il cd "SALUTE!"; Nell'inverno 2001/02, a Bologna, prende vita, una "LEGAZIONE ROMAGNOLA" con il patrocinio di PAOLO CEVOLI, alias l'Assessore PALMIRO CANGINI. L'autunno 2002 li vede assieme protagonisti di uno spettacolo di varietà, "THE RONCOFRITTO GLOBAL SHOW". Natale 2002. ALDO, GIOVANNI E GIACOMO chiedono a Mr. Lucky Luciano di essere consulente per i brani d'epoca, e di musicare le canzoni della colonna sonora del nuovo film "LA LEGGENDA DI AL, JOHN AND JACK". L'anno 2003 vede decollare il sodalizio Cevoli/Good Fellas con la tournee estiva del "RONCOFRITTO SHOW", e la grande tournee invernale nei teatri di tutta Italia del varietà "MOTONAVE CENERENTOLA", con l'inedita coppia PAOLO CEVOLI e NATASHA STEFANENKO. Primavera 2004 esce "SONGS FOR AL, JOHN AND JACK". Si chiude il 2004 con "UMBRIA JAZZ WINTER #12" ad Orvieto, dove ottengono un incredibile successo di pubblico. Il 2005 vede la pubblicazione del nuovo album "OLLY MEETS THE GOOD FELLAS" starring la splendida voce degli Shandon, Olly. UMBRIA JAZZ SUMMER 2005, UMBRIA JAZZ WINTER #13 li confermano beniamini di questo festival. Il 2006 porta con se un carico di importanti avvenimenti. Il tour "Canzoni e Ragionamenti", al seguito di "COCHI E RENATO", il nuovo cd "13 WOMEN", ed "UMBRIA JAZZ WINTER #14". A gennaio 2007, arriva su Rai 2 lo show "STIAMO LAVORANDO PER NOI", sempre a fianco di Cochi e Renato, che tornano in tv dopo ben 34 anni! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "THE GOOD FELLAS" The most cursory glance down the roster of America's most popular troubadours, immediately reveals one prime and inescapable fact, the majority are of Italian-American extraction. Caruso, Sinatra, Como, Prima, Monte, Bennett, Darin…the list seems endless. "Why", many an eager bobby-soxer has asked "are so many of the great singers Italian?" Why, indeed? The answer is, of course, to step into the history and folkways of a people that it would take thousands of words to explain. But, we can briefly say, it's because of their warm-hearted, unrestrained humour and passion for life. As a part of this good company we can find "THE GOOD FELLAS". Better known as the "GANGSTERS OF SWING", dressed in old fashioned, strictly Italian made, double breast Capone suites, wearing two tone shoes, laughing at life like everyone does deep down in the land of pizza and mandolino. To be a "good fellow" means to be a true gentleman, loyal and respectful of strong heritage and traditions. It means to smell of the full Italian flavour, while always hungry for a lady's kiss among the scene of a Neapolitan moonlight. What they do best is the well-known, truly genuine, Italian way of entertaining known the World over. Swingin and jokin' all the time with the audience in that half Italian, half English, macaroni language. This band truly swings from "Oh Marie", "Tu vuo fa l'americano" to Basie's "Tickle Toe", and from Haley's "A rockin' little tune" to Lou Monte's Italian version of Fats Domino's classic Rock'n'Roll "I'm Walkin". They walk the junction between Italian American and Afro American music, follow the steps of the giants of swing era, spacing from a shuffle beat to a Philly houserock to Texas blues. Like many of the Italian citizens of the World War II age, the GOOD FELLAS feel the "American Dream", falling in love with the American brashness, cleverness, then impossible madness, but never really thinkin' to leave the Country of sea and sun, their food, their roots. Lean against his big bass, he's the boss, Mr. LUCKY LUCIANO, created his own way of swingin' way back in 1993; always guarded by his "shadow", boxeur/drummer BUM BUM LA MOTTA. With an experience of more than 100 gigs every year, these great musicians entertained the audiences of England, Germany, France, Switzerland, Wales, Belgium, Slovenjia and every corner of their beautiful Country. Over the Rockin' scene, they blew the fuse of a spectacular audience at "THE RHYTHM RIOT", UK, and rocked the house at "SUMMER JAMBOREE" in Senigallia, obtaining massive compliments as top international act. It's been a pleasure, during the years of their activity to be backing international stars such as JACK SCOTT, BLUE LOU MARINI, ROCKIN' DAVE TAYLOR, GRAHAM FENTON, SCREAMIN' LORD SUTCH, CHARLIE GRACIE, BIG JAY McNEELY, JIMMY CAVALLO, DANNY AND THE JUNIORS, TOMMY SANDS, EDDIE NICHOLS, and they work very often with long time friend fellow musician RAY GELATO. Together, they recorded two albums; GELATO ALL'ITALIANA (1996) and GANGSTERS OF SWING (1998). The GOOD FELLAS have been featured several times on top TV shows and reviews, and played a role in the major Italian movie "I FOBICI" that includes the beauty of international star SABRINA FERILLI. Fall 1999; the Fellas played the most important show in Italy, starring ALDO, GIOVANNI E GIACOMO, "Tel chi el Telùn" seen by over 10 million per night on TV. The "SALUTE!" Cd was released in the year 2k. In 2002 Mr. Lucky is the music director for Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo's brand new motion picture movie "La leggenda di Al, John and Jack". Again in the same year and the following, they play their music on a superb new Variety show headlined by famous comedian Paolo CEVOLI, called "THE RONCOFRITTO SHOW", which in 2003 became a theatrical comedy show "MOTONAVE CENERENTOLA" starring Russian beauty and Tv star NATASHA STEFANENKO. 2004, the cd "SONGS FOR AL, JOHN AND JACK" hit the market. Year 2005 began with a full swingin feeling. The band performs at "UMBRIA JAZZ WINTER #12", main Italian jazz festival, selling out every show. Therefore, Carlo Pagnotta, promoter of the event, signs the band immediately for the forthcoming 2005 Summer and Winter editions of the Festival! April 2005, they release "OLLY MEETS THE GOOD FELLAS", starring guest singer Olly, leader of ska core Italian top act SHANDON. 2006 brings another great chance; theatre tour aside top comedians COCHI E RENATO, a 13th years' celebration cd "13 WOMEN", and "UMBRIA JAZZ WINTER #14". 2007 starts with tv show "STIAMO LAVORANDO PER NOI". Wear your best suite, put on your dancin' shoes, grab your girl and bring your best smile; and WATCH OUT, the GANGSTERS OF SWING are back in town!
